Maine Woods Discovery comes fishing

Kennebec River Angler with the help our friends Northern Outdoors had an opportunity to take Erin, from Maine Woods Discovery, out to do a little fishing
We decided to give her a sample of both our ½ day smallmouth bass fishing trip and our full day fly fishing trip.
We headed out around 1 pm to spend a couple hours on one of our favorite stretches of the Kennebec River. Erin did a great job and caught a bunch of nice bass. There seemed to be an abundance of smaller fish in our usual spots but Erin did manage to land a couple nice ones, like the one pictured.
Later in the afternoon we headed North to see if we could get Erin her first fish on a fly. Fishing was tough, there were tons of fish rising and even jumping out of the water all around the boat but we just could get them to take our offerings. Eventually the stars aligned and fly choice, cast and presentation came together and Erin landed a nice salmon. The ‘no fish on a fly’ curse she had been living with her whole life had finally ended. Our mission accomplished, we headed back for dinner at Northern Outdoors.

Thanks again to Erin for coming fishing with us and thanks for the great blog article she wrote, here’s the link:

Hopefully Erin will come back and try out the Kennebec River Gorge for some great brook trout fishing,
