Another busy week has passed and the fishing keeps getting better as fall continues to roll in. I spent two days with one of our regular clients from Kennebec River Outfitters and we had great days on the gorge. Bill caught one salmon with an incredible kype proving that spawning season is just around the corner. I then went up to the East Outlet for two days and fished with father and son team Gus and Tom. Gus, at 80, showed he has all the spunk in the world and we had lots of laughs and some nice brook trout. Thanks to Wilson's camps on Moosehead Lake for booking this trip. Yesterday, Mike and I hosted a group of 4 from the Maryland and Philly areas for a day in the gorge. The boys worked hard in real wet and cold conditions and all caught fish despite not being overly comfortable. The fishing is going to continue to get better this time of year and the gorge is open until October 31. Give us a call for one of the most unique fishing trips in Maine, The Kennebec River Gorge.
